A few days back, United World Wrestling has threatened to suspend the WFI if the Wrestling Federation of India does not hold elections as soon as possible. The Sports Ministry has given IOA (Indian Olympic Association) 45 days to complete the election process of Wrestling Federation of India. Which ends on 10th June.

According to a report in Indian Express, the Olympic Association has not even started its process yet. They have not even appointed an officer for this till now. who can monitor it. A source told that until this matter cools down, it would not be right to conduct elections in a fair manner. For this reason, the information for the election has not been issued yet.

If the election process is not completed by June 10, then the wrestling association may have to face suspension.
