Why did David Warner warn Cameron Green before going to the IPL auction? Know the whole matter

New Delhi. Australia’s dashing batsman David Warner has warned all-rounder Cameron Green about his busy schedule in 2023, which also includes participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Green’s intention to participate in IPL 2023 can be seen in the bidding process among 10 franchises in the mini-auction to be held in Kochi next month. In September, Green had 2 brilliant fifties at a strike rate of 214.54 in India’s T20 tour of Australia.

He said, “From my point of view it is very good. From the point of view of playing, he has to play 4 Test matches and then a few ODIs. Even your first trip to India at 19 weeks can be challenging.

Cricket.com.au said in Perth, quoting Warner, “I have faced such challenging programs before. I have participated in Test series and (IPL 2017). Then after that you have to play 5 test matches in England. After that I think you will get 20 days before going to South Africa and then participating in the World Cup.

Maxwell took a break in 2019
He also cited the example of all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who had to take a mental health break at the end of 2019 due to hectic cricket schedules. Warner said, “Maxwell did the same a few years ago, first played the whole year and then took a break when the season came. It is absolutely challenging from a young player’s point of view. Now the decision has to be taken by them.

Green’s busy schedule will be like this
Before playing the IPL 2023 season, Green will play in the home Test series against West Indies and South Africa. He can also play for his BBL team Perth Scorchers before coming to India with the Australia team for 4 Tests next year. After this there will be 3 ODIs. After the IPL is over, Australia will tour England for the 5-match Ashes series. If they make it to the final of the World Test Championship, then it can be 6 Test matches. Australia also have a white-ball tour of South Africa in August before participating in the ODI World Cup in India in October.

Warner has played IPL regularly since 2009.
Warner has been an IPL regular since 2009, except for the 2018 season which he missed due to the ban imposed after the Cape Town ball-tampering scandal. Warner is currently in the final stages of his career as he aims to participate in the 2024 T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA. He feels that his main objective is to make Australia win the Test series in India and England next year.
