World Cup 2023 dates came in front, update on opening match, final will be held on this ground!

Mumbai: The 50-over World Cup to be held in India this year may start from October 5. It is believed that the final match of the tournament will be played on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. BCCI has shortlisted a dozen cities for this tournament to be held between 10 teams. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, a total of 48 matches including knockouts will be played in the World Cup, which will last for 46 days. However, so far no official information has been received from the Indian Cricket Board about this.

Matches can be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Apart from the title matches, the BCCI is yet to select the venues for any of the matches. There will be warm-up matches in two or three cities. The venues are yet to be decided in view of the monsoon in many parts of India.

Usually, the ICC announces the World Cup schedule at least a year in advance, but this time it is also waiting for the BCCI to get the necessary approval from the Indian government. There are two major issues involved: getting tax exemption for the tournament and visa clearance for the Pakistan team, which has not played in India since 2013 except in ICC events.
