Yash Dhull News: After making India the Under-19 World Champion, another good news for Yash Dhul, will now be seen playing here

New Delhi: Yash Dhull, the captain of India’s Under-19 World Cup winning team, was on Wednesday named in the Delhi squad for the Ranji Trophy. Veteran India pacer Ishant Sharma has declared himself unavailable for selection for this tournament. The India U-19 team led by Dhul was felicitated by the BCCI during the second ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Left arm fast bowler Pradeep Sangwan will captain the team.

Dhul could not play domestic tournaments with the red ball at the Under-19 level due to limited overs commitments of the Indian team. In such a situation, Dhul will have to face a tough first-class challenge. A selector from the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) said, “His confidence is high even though he hasn’t played many red ball matches but we want him to get experience of first-class cricket.”

After the Under-19 World Cup in West Indies last week, Dhul has not got time to rest. He reached India on Tuesday morning along with the rest of the World Cup winning team. Dhul will return to his hometown Delhi on Thursday morning and then leave for Guwahati with the Delhi team.

Amid uncertainty over his future in the Indian team, veteran pacer Ishant has told DDCA president Rohan Jaitley that he is not available for selection for the state team. Ishant also got a chance to play the same Test on South Africa tour. India’s fast bowler Navdeep Saini is also a part of the team. Saini is included in the reserve players of the ODI series against West Indies.
