New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki India Limited is preparing to launch a new SUV in India. The Maruti Jimny offroad SUV has been in discussion in India for a long time. Now the company is ready to launch it. This car will be launched in two variants. This includes Zeta and Alpha variants. This car is going to be equipped with many premium features.

The car is based on the global three-door model of the Jimny. Although the new Jimny will be better than the current model in many respects. This car will be based on ladder frame chassis. The departure angle of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is 50 degrees, the ramp breakover angle is 24 degrees and the approach angle is 36 degrees. It measures 3,985 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width and 1,720 mm in height with a wheelbase length of 2,590 mm and a fuel capacity of 40 litres. It weighs around 1,200 kg and has a ground clearance of 210 mm.

large boot space
When the rear seats are folded down, the boot space of the Jimny expands to 322 litres. Maruti Suzuki Jimny will not have any direct competitor in India and it will be placed below the upcoming 5 door Mahindra Thar. The starting price of the 5-door off-roader will be around Rs. 10.5 lakhs. Its top model could cost Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom).

The powertrain will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a four-speed torque converter AT, which will send power to all 4 wheels via Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system as standard. Talking about its interior, it includes nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, cruise control, Arkamis audio, 6 airbags, automatic LED headlamps with segment-first washer, automatic climate control etc.
