Digital Desk, New Delhi. If you’re planning to get an iPhone 14 from the US through your friends or relatives, change your plan, as the new iPhones will come without a physical SIM tray in the US and will only support e-SIM. In India, you will still find new iPhones with e-SIM feature along with a physical SIM tray.
The new Apple iPhones will be able to use two e-SIMs at once, and users will be able to store more e-SIMs. Outside the US, Apple iPhones still support physical Nano-SIM.
Apple allowed one eSIM and one physical SIM till the iPhone 13 series. E-SIM allows users to easily connect or quickly transfer their existing plans to digital, which is a more secure alternative to a physical SIM card and allows multiple cellular plans on a single device.
Apple said during the launch event that it is removing the SIM tray for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro US models, allowing users to set up their devices more quickly and easily. As The Verge reports, the lack of a physical SIM tray won’t affect you if you’re on a major US cell phone network (AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile).
But if you’re on a carrier that doesn’t have e-SIM support or you’re planning to switch to one, well, you shouldn’t be getting an iPhone 14 from the US.
