BMW’s best selling bike launch, cost more than Scorpio

New Delhi. BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship motorcycle BMW S 1000 in a new avatar in the Indian market. This bike has now come with a more powerful engine and new design as compared to its old model. The price of 2023 BMW S 1000 RR starts at ₹ 20.25 Lakh ex-showroom and goes up to ₹ 24.45 Lakh ex-showroom. It will be sold in three variants Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport.

Talking about the power of the bike, it gets a 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine, which generates maximum power of 206 bhp at 13,750 rpm and peak torque of 113 nm at 11,000 rpm. The power of the bike has increased a lot, though the torque remains the same. BMW has increased the power by redesigning the intake funnel and with a new intake manifold.

What will be new in the bike?
Talking about the cosmetic changes, new livery has been added to the bike, which are winglets on the top. They now generate up to 10 kg of downforce depending on the speed of the rider. This extra weight helps in counteracting the tendency of the tire during acceleration. Also, this means that the traction control doesn’t need to do much work. In this way, it helps the rider to lap the speed. The rear section has also been redesigned to make it lighter and sportier. The number plate holder has also become smaller now.

Awesome features
The standard equipment on the motorcycle has been changed on the motorcycle. It now gets a USB charging socket and an M battery as standard. Talking about the features of the bike, the 6.5-inch TFT screen now comes with more features and a new rev counter display. The TFT screen can be controlled using the multi-controller located on the left handlebar.

Bike is equipped with new safety features
The motorcycle comes with ABS Pro, but now also gets brake slide assist and ABS Pro “sleek” setting functions. The new ‘Sleek’ setting has been created specifically for treadless slick tyres. The new brake slide assist function allows the rider to slide out the rear before the system kicks in.
