Buying Hyundai i20 car will be expensive, company has increased the price, check new rates

Hyundai i20: Hyundai has once again increased the prices of its premium hatchback i20 and its sportier version i20 N-Line. The company has increased the price for the second time in four months. The i20 has now become costlier by Rs 21,500. Apart from the price hike, Hyundai has also made changes to the i20 lineup by deleting a few variants. The last increase in the prices of this model was done in September last year just before the festive season.

Among all the variants, the price of the variant offered with the turbo petrol unit has been increased by the maximum of Rs 21,500. The hatchback now starts at ₹7.18 lakh and goes up to ₹11.68 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top model Asta (O) variant with DCT transmission.

This model also became expensive
Hyundai has also increased the price of the N-Line variant of the i20. Offered with iMT in N6 and N8 and DCT gearbox in N8, the i20 N-Line has seen a price hike of Rs. 16,500. Prices for the N-Line variant now start at Rs 10.16 lakh and go up to Rs 12.12 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.

The company discontinued the model
Apart from increasing the prices of the premium hatchback, Hyundai has also refreshed the lineup a bit. The Korean carmaker has removed the iMT gearbox variant from the turbo petrol lineup of the hatchback. A few years ago, the iMT gearbox model was launched with the six-speed unit. Hyundai will now offer the i20 only with the DCT gearbox. However, the iMT gearbox will be offered with the N-Line variant of the model.

The car comes with 3 engine options
The Hyundai i20 and i20 N-Line models are offered with three variants of engines. There is a 1.2-litre petrol engine. This engine is capable of generating 82bhp power and 115Nm peak torque. It gets a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which generates power of 118 bhp. Apart from this, the I20 N-Line is sold with a 1.0-litre turbo GDi petrol engine, which can generate 120 hp power and 175 Nm torque.
