New Delhi. Gone are the days when sunroof was considered a premium feature of exclusive and expensive cars. Now this feature is not limited to luxury cars. Now it has become quite a popular feature among mass-segment cars as well. Tata Motors is one of those car manufacturers which is a game changer in the market. The carmaker recently added the feature of a sunroof to its Altroz hatchback model lineup. It has now become the cheapest car in India to offer a sunroof.
The sunroof equipped variant of the Altroz costs Rs 45,000 more when compared to the non-sunroof variant in the same trim. The rival Maruti Baleno lacks a sunroof feature and the Hyundai i20 gets a sunroof in the Asta and Asta (O) trims, which start at Rs. 9.03 lakhs. However, Hyundai will soon bring the Hyundai Exter micro SUV with a single-pane sunroof. Its top trims will feature a sunroof. It will be the most affordable SUV from Hyundai and is also expected to be the cheapest car to come with a sunroof.
