Citroën’s ‘affordable’ EV coming to compete with Tata Tiago EV, full details

New Delhi. Tata Motors introduced the new Tata Tiago EV on 28 September. After this, on October 10, the company started booking for it. The electric hatchback has received 20,000 bookings so far. Deliveries of the model will begin in January 2023. Currently its waiting is up to 4 months. Promising delivery within 2 months only in select cities. The Tata Tiago EV comes in XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux trims and two battery pack options – 19.2kWh and 24kWh.

Citroën EV is also ready to compete with Tiago. While the prices of the Citroen C3 EV will be revealed in the coming months, we expect it to be priced around Rs.10 lakh to Rs.12 lakh. Its arch rival – the Tiago EV comes in four trims (XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux), priced between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (all ex-showroom). Tata’s small electric car could be powered by either a 24kWh battery or a 19.2kWh battery pack paired with a permanent electric motor (74bhp / 114Nm). While the former has a claimed MIDC range of 324km, the latter offers 315km on a single charge.

The new Citroen electric car is likely to share its powertrain with the global-spec Peugeot e-208. This means that it could be made available with a 50kWH battery pack and an electric motor that produces 136PS of power and 260Nm of torque. The setup offers an electric range of over 350km (WLTP claimed). The C3 EV could also be offered with a smaller battery pack option, which promises a range of around 300 km.

These features are also present
Similar to its ICE-powered variant, the new Citroen C3 EV will be based on the eCMP platform. Most of its features will be carried over from its petrol sibling, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, front power windows with one-touch down for the driver, AC unit, steering mounted controls, tilt adjustable steering Are included. Features like speed sensitive auto door lock, door ajar warning and dual airbags are included.
