Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara vs Creta: The mid size SUV segment in India is growing very fast. It has been at the top in terms of sales for many years.
Maruti Suzuki has recently announced the launch of the new Grand Vitara in this segment. The company has lifted the curtain from this SUV, it will be launched in India in September. Its merits have come to the fore. Now it remains to be seen whether the mid-size SUV will be able to compete with the occupied Creta in the segment. first let’s talk about the price
Maruti Suzuki has not disclosed the price of the new Grand Vitara, however, its starting price could be Rs 9.5 lakh. The carmaker will announce the official price in September, just ahead of the festive season. Bookings for the 2022 Grand Vitara start at Rs 11,000. The Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 10.44 lakh to Rs 18.18 lakh. The base variant of the Grand Vitara can be around Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the Creta.
design and size
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara comes as a butch SUV with a straight grille, square wheel arches, plastic body cladding and sleek headlights. Overall, Vitara is sporty but retains its SUV design well. Though the new Grand Vitara is based on the same platform and is the same vehicle as the recently unveiled Toyota Urban Cruiser header, they have similarities and differences. The Hyundai Creta is packed with sleek lines and sportiness. At the bottom of the front end, there is a large front grille with headlights. In terms of size, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be slightly taller, wider and longer, however, the Creta has a longer wheelbase.

Interior and Features
Both the cars feature LED lighting all around, however, the Grand Vitara gets three marker lights up front, while the Creta gets a single LED strip. The exteriors of both the vehicles get plastic cladding and the Grand Vitara gets 17-inch alloy wheels while the Creta gets 16-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, both get touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, connected car features, ventilated seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat, digital instrument cluster, sunroof, push-button start, wireless charging, rear AC vents, automatic climate control and steering wheel. Mounted controls are available like features are available.
The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been introduced with two petrol engines 1.5-litre mild hybrid and 1.5-litre strong hybrid. Maruti Suzuki claims a mileage of 27.97 kmpl, which is the highest for an SUV in India. The Creta is offered with three engine options, a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. The Hyundai Creta is more powerful in every segment and the turbo petrol is a class in itself. However, the Grand Vitara is available with an all-grip all-wheel-drive system with different modes, making it the only SUV in the segment.
