The bikes coming in this segment are far ahead in sales. The Honda Shan 100 is the newest addition to the most sought-after 100 cc commuter motorcycle segment in the Indian two-wheeler market. It has been launched by Honda recently.

Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe are already quite popular in this segment. Bajaj Auto also sells the Platina 100 in the same segment. Honda Shine 100 is the newest bike in the segment, obviously it is not easy to make a segment place. The company claims that the Honda Shan 100 will give the highest mileage in the segment, while the Platina is still ahead in this matter. Honda Shine 100 engine and mileage
The Honda Shine 100 has been given an all-new 99.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which generates power of 7.6 hp and torque of 8.05 Nm. This engine is made according to BS6 Phase-2 and E20 fuel. The special thing is that the bike has a fuel pump attached to the tank, due to which it can be easily repaired in case of damage. It gets an auto-choke function, which can easily start the bike even at low temperatures. Honda is yet to reveal the mileage figures, but claims that the Shine 100 comes with top-in-class fuel efficiency.

Bajaj Platina 100 engine and mileage
Bajaj Platina 100 has the largest engine in the segment at 102 cc, which is bigger than Hero Splendor Plus and Hero HF Deluxe. This single-cylinder and air-cooled engine produces 7.9 hp of peak power and 8.3 Nm of peak torque. Apparently it is more powerful than the Honda Shine 100 and also generates more torque. Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100 motorcycles get a four-speed manual transmission. The company claims that it gives more than 70 km mileage.

price difference
Honda Shine 100 price starts at ₹ 64,900 ex-showroom, while Bajaj Platina 100 price starts at ₹ 67,475 ex-showroom. In terms of price, the Platina is a bit expensive. If you want to buy a better looking bike then Honda Shine 100 can be a good option, but if you want to give priority to mileage then Bajaj Platina is better.
