New Delhi. It is quite common for car manufacturers to increase prices at the beginning of the calendar year. In such a situation, India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is planning to increase the prices of its entire product lineup from January 2023. The increase in prices will vary according to the variant and model. According to media reports, the company says that it is “under pressure to increase costs due to inflation and regulatory requirements”. The company is making efforts to reduce costs and offset the increase to some extent. It has become imperative to pass on (i.e. pass on to) some of this effect through price increases.”
Apart from this, the company also aims to expand its UV (utility vehicle) product portfolio with three new models next year. These will include the Maruti Baleno Cross, the 5-door Maruti Jimny and a new three-row MPV based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. All three models can be showcased at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo in January. The new Maruti Suzuki MPV will be a re-badged version of the Innova Highcross, which will go on sale in January 2023. The new Maruti Suzuki MPV will be made available at the company’s premium Nexa dealership. This will be the most expensive Maruti Suzuki car in the country. The price of the new Maruti MPV is expected to go up to Rs 20 lakh (base model) to Rs 30 lakh (range-topping variant).
