India gifted 80 Mahindra Scorpio to this neighboring country, know where they will be used?

New Delhi. India has handed over 80 vehicles to Nepal ahead of the upcoming general elections. Mahindra Scorpio pickup truck was offered by the Center to the Election Commission of the country on Thursday. After this, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over these vehicles to Nepal’s Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapliya in a ceremony. India has so far delivered more than 200 vehicles to the Election Commission in the neighboring country.

Of the 200 vehicles handed over by India, 80 will be used by the Election Commission for election-related work, while another 120 will be used by security forces. Being a mountainous terrain, Nepal will benefit from Mahindra’s all-terrain model Scorpio.

India has been helping in the past too
India has been supporting Nepal by offering vehicles on request. So far, 214 vehicles have been gifted to Nepal’s top election agency. Speaking at the function, Thapliya said, “We are in the process of holding elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies in the country. Only a few days are left for this. Periodic elections are necessary to maintain the democratic system. The Government of India has been helping us in our major elections by providing vehicles, election materials and other necessary assistance.”

These vehicles will be used in elections
Naveen Srivastava said, “India has always been a good friend of Nepal. Our relations have always been cordial. India being a neighboring and democratic nation has always accepted the requests of the Election Commission of Nepal, on the basis of which we are handing over 80 vehicles. The handed over vehicles will be used during the upcoming general elections to be held from November 20.

India has given more than 2400 vehicles
This is not the first time that India has presented vehicles to Nepal. Over the years, Nepal has received over 2400 vehicles from various authorities including Nepal Police and Armed Police Forces as well as Nepal Army. The election will be used to elect 165 members to the Nepal House of Representatives or the lower house of the Parliament House on November 20.
