Make in India : Ringing in Make in India, American ship came to India for repair for the first time

Make in India Project : The Government of India has made tremendous efforts to promote Make in India. After which now this plan is ringing in the whole world. American Naval Ship ‘Charles Drew’ has reached the shipyard of the company ‘Larsen & Toubro’ (L&T) in Kattupalli, Chennai for repairs. Let us tell you that this is the first time that an American ship has come to India for repairs.

Will stay in India for 11 days
In this regard, the Ministry of Defense said that the India-US strategic partnership will get further strengthened. The government said that this US vessel will remain at Kattupalli’s shipyard for 11 days for repairs. This ship plays an important role in the war in the Indo-Pacific region for the US Navy.

India reached for repair
The ministry says that, ‘This is the first time that a US Navy ship has reached India for repairs. The US Navy had awarded the contract for the maintenance of the ship to L&T’s shipyard at Kattupalli. The move is enhancing the capabilities of Indian shipyards in the global ship repair market. Indian shipyards are providing comprehensive and economical services for ship repair and maintenance by using advanced marine technology.

Navy expressed happiness
Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar, Vice Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral S.N. Ghormade and other senior officials of the Defense Ministry have visited the shipyard. Kumar said that we are pleased to welcome US Navy Ship Charles Drew to India. India’s initiative is of particular importance in taking forward the strategic partnership between India-US. Let us tell you that apart from the US Consul General in Chennai, Judith Ravin, other senior officials of the US Embassy in New Delhi have also been present.
