Maruti breaks the hearts of new customers! Cars are expensive for the second time in 3 months, now you have to think before buying!

New Delhi. As soon as the new financial year 2023-2024 starts in the country from April 1, domestic carmaker Maruti Suzuki has increased the price of all its vehicles. In a regulatory filing, the company has given information about increasing the price of all its car models by 0.8 percent. This is the second hike in prices after January 2023. The new increase in prices has come into effect from 1 April 2023.

Model-wise new prices will be revealed by the company soon. Currently, the brand has 15 cars in its line-up out of which 13 are offered in CNG variants as well. Especially in all the models of Maruti’s Arena range, CNG option is available.

What is the reason for the price hike?
The biggest reason for the increase in prices is being attributed to the compliance of the new emission norms, which have come into effect from 1 April 2023. According to the new rules, the company has upgraded its vehicles, due to which the cost has now increased.

Maruti Suzuki had announced to increase the prices from the new financial year in March 2023 itself. Apart from Maruti, some automakers like Honda Cars, Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp had already announced a price hike from April 1.

Maruti’s sales decline marginally
The price hike comes at a time when Maruti Suzuki India’s sales were down marginally at 1,70,071 units in March 2023 as against 1,70,395 units in March 2022. The dealer shipment of the company also decreased by 3 percent to 1,39,952 units last month.

In addition, Maruti Suzuki will launch the Frox crossover in India this month. The Maruti Franks is based on the Baleno and has received over 15,500 bookings. Engine options for the Franks include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol mill. Apart from this, Maruti Jimny SUV is also in the pipeline, whose prices are expected to be announced next month.
