Maruti Ertiga’s craze continues in the market, again became India’s number 1 MPV

Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga continues to be the best selling model in its class; However, its sales declined significantly in February 2023. Maruti Suzuki sold 6,472 units of the Ertiga MPV in February 2023.

Kia Carens at number two
Kia Carens is currently the second best selling MPV in the country. In the month of January 2023, the MPV registered its highest ever monthly sales of 7900 units. However, the sales of Carens declined in February 2023. The company sold 6,248 units of Carens MPV last month.

Toyota’s newly launched Innova Highcross MPV has received an overwhelming response from car buyers. The Japanese brand sold 4,169 units of the Highcross MPV in the country in February 2023, making it the third best selling model in its segment. The big breakthrough behind the Highcross is the availability of a fuel efficient hybrid powertrain. It is available with two engine options – a 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L petrol + hybrid.

Triber also in top 10
Renault India sold a total of 6616 units in February 2023. Triber continues to be a volume generator for the French automaker. Renault sold 3056 units of the MPV in February 2023. The 6-seater XL6 from Maruti Suzuki is currently the only MPV sold through the NEXA premium dealership network. The company sold 2,108 units of the XL6 MPV in February 2023, compared to 2,582 units sold in the same month last year. There has been a decline of 18.36% in the sales of the brand.

Mahindra sold 171 units of the Marazzo 3-row MPV in the country in February 2023. The MPV is currently available in a single diesel engine option. It is powered by a 121bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine.
