Maruti’s SUV became cheaper than Rs 8 lakh as soon as it was launched, leaving Tata Nexon behind


Maruti Brezza has got a great response as soon as it is launched.
In terms of sales, this car has overtaken Nexon.
The Nexon remained the number 1 SUV for a long time.

New Delhi. To save the turmoil in the SUV market, this year two popular SUVs were launched in a new color. The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza and 2022 Hyundai Venue entered the market in a new avatar this year. However, both these models were behind the hugely popular Tata Nexon in the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment. Tata Nexon was India’s best-selling SUV for 8 consecutive months till July 2022.

This changed in August 2022 and the new Brezza ended the reign of Tata Nexon and won the title of best selling SUV. Tata Nexon was at number two. After this, cars like Hyundai Venue facelift, Kia Sonnet and Mahindra XUV300 made it to the top 10.

Looking at the August 2022 SUV sales report, the number one Maruti Suzuki Brezza sold a total of 15193 units and became India’s number SUV. After this, Tata Nexon was at number two, which sold a total of 15085 units and the third place was made by Hyundai Venue, which had a total sale of 11240 units. The fourth best selling SUV was the Kia Sonnet and the total sales of this car was 7838 units. The 5th best selling SUV was Mahindra XUV300 and its total sold 4322 units.

Talking about the top 10 compact SUVs sold in India, Nissan Magnite managed to make it to number five last month. A total of 3194 units of this car have been sold. This was followed by Toyota Urban Cruiser SUV and a total of 3131 units were sold for this car. Renault Cayger managed to make it to the eighth place and 2641 units of this car were sold in August last.
