Nagpur-Pune 716 km distance will be covered in just 8 hours, now it takes 15 hours: Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi. India’s growing network of high-speed expressways will soon make traveling to two important cities of Maharashtra, Nagpur and Pune, easier and shorter. Soon a green expressway will be built between the two cities, from which one can reach from one city to another in just 8 hours. At present, traveling from Nagpur to Pune takes about twice the time i.e. 15 hours.

A day ago Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that the new proposed Green Expressway, which will be called the Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) Access Control Green Expressway, will help the two cities come closer to people who prefer to travel by road. We do. The new expressway will be connected to the 701 km long Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway, also known as Nagpur-Mumbai Samridhi Mahamarg, near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Journey will be covered in very less time
Nitin Gadkari said that the new Green Expressway will help in reducing the travel time between the two cities to a great extent. According to the Union Minister, the journey from Nagpur to Pune by road can be done in just eight hours, which is almost half of the present cost. He said that the new expressway project will be undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Green Expressway will bypass two reserve forests
The distance between Nagpur and Pune is 716 kms and currently it takes around 15 hours to travel by road to cover the distance via National Highway 753C. Sharing information about the road plan, Gadkari said that the Pune-Nagpur Green Expressway will eventually connect with the Pune-Bengaluru Expressway near the city. It will bypass two reserve forests and will also have an intersection connecting it with the Surat-Chennai Expressway.

It will take less time to go from Nagpur to Mumbai
The new expressway will also bring Nagpur closer to Mumbai by road. It will help connect passengers with the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a 95-km-long 6-lane high-speed highway, which takes less than three hours to travel by car. Overall, the distance between Nagpur and Mumbai will also be reduced to just 11 hours.
