Not Nexon or Brezza, this Dhansu SUV is the new ‘boss’ of the Indian market
New Delhi. The demand for SUV cars is increasing continuously in the Indian automobile market. Tata Nexon or Maruti Suzuki Brezza remains the top selling SUV since its launch. But, the month of May was not like this. In May, there was an SUV that beat both Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza and managed to win the title of top selling SUV. The name of this SUV is Hyundai Creta. It is a slightly more premium SUV than the Nexon and Brezza and is also expensive.
In the last month i.e. May 2023, Hyundai has sold a total of 14,449 units of its Creta SUV, with this it has become India’s bestselling SUV. After this, Tata Nexon was the second best-selling SUV, with a total of 14,423 units sold in May 2023. If noted here, there is a very slight difference of only 26 units in the sale of both. Maruti Suzuki Brezza was the third best selling SUV after these two with a total of 13,398 units sold.
Engine & Power
Hyundai Creta used to have 3 engine options till some time back but now only 2 engine options are available. It has both petrol and diesel engine options. Its 1.5L 4-cylinder diesel engine outputs 116PS and 250Nm and comes with the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT. At the same time, its 1.5 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine is capable of generating 115PS power and 143.8Nm torque and the option of 6-speed manual and Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) is also available to the buyers.
How much is the price?
Hyundai Creta price starts at Rs. 10.87 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.20 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec model. This car LED headlamps, LED taillamps, panoramic sunroof, power adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, semi-digital instrument cluster (7-inch), connected car technology, touchscreen infotainment system (10.25 inch), 6 airbags, ESC Premium features like VSM, hill-start assist control, all wheel disc brakes, TPMS, rear parking camera and ABS with EBD are available.
