The price was increased by 30 to 50 rupees

Cheap tickets at 14 stations
In this regard, Rekha Sharma, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, says that “Platform ticket rates have been reduced to ₹ 10 in total 14 railway stations. This includes Lucknow, Varanasi, Barabanki, Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya Junction, Akbarpur, Shahganj, Jaunpur, Sultanpur Junction, Rae Bareli, Janghai, Bhadohi, Pratapgarh and Unnao Junction are included. Now the platform ticket price has been reduced to Rs 10 from the pre-festival price. Due to Chhath Puja, the price was increased to ₹ 50, which has now been reduced.

The same Southern Railway had increased the price of platform tickets at many stations including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, they have also reduced them. Southern Railway increased platform ticket prices from ₹10 to ₹20 at 8 major railway stations, including Chennai. This includes Dr. MGR Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram and Katpadi stations.
