Ride cheap e-vehicles on Diwali at just 5 percent compared to petrol, diesel and CNG vehicles

New Delhi. These days the demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in the country. Especially in cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai (Mumbai), Chennai and Bengaluru (Chennai and Bengaluru), the sale of electric vehicles has gained momentum. Because of this, infrastructure is now being developed for charging stations for electric vehicles in these cities. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday inaugurated charging stations for electric vehicles at 11 places in Delhi. On this occasion, Kejriwal said that in the year 2020, when the Electrical Vehicles (EV Policy) came, a target of 25 percent electric vehicles was set by 2024, but Delhi has achieved the target of 10 percent electric vehicles in two years.

On the lines of the Kejriwal government, now the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has also set a target of setting up an EV charging station on two square kilometres. MCD has also decided to set up 432 charging stations in Delhi in the next few years. At present, 91 charging stations of MCD have become operational in Delhi. 92 charging stations will start functioning in December. For this, MCD has tied up with about 12 companies.

This is the most economical model of charging electric vehicles in Delhi.

E-vehicle vehicles caught pace in metro cities
Kejriwal has further said that this is the most economical model of charging electric vehicles in Delhi. Along with this, the facility of charging for vehicles is being provided at the rate of three rupees per unit, which is not available anywhere in the world. Compared to CNG, petrol and diesel vehicles in Delhi, you can travel by electric vehicle at only four to five percent cost. You can travel by electric vehicles for just 33 paise per kilometer as compared to Rs 7 for petrol and diesel.

Delhi government is giving subsidy
Explain that the Delhi government has now opened 73 charging points and 12 swapping centers for electric vehicles. At the same time, Delhi currently has a total of 2900 charging points and 250 swapping stations. After the introduction of Electric Vehicles Policy in Delhi, 70 thousand e-vehicles have been purchased in two years. At present, 25 percent of the new buses included in DTC in Delhi are electric buses. 1500 more e-buses are expected to hit the roads of Delhi by December 2022.

The Delhi government plans that in the next three years, 80 percent of the public transport fleet will be electric buses.
