Tata Altroz ​​coming with 2 CNG cylinders, tremendous mileage, cool features

New Delhi. Tata Motors showcased two of its upcoming CNG models at the recently concluded Delhi Auto Expo (Auto Expo 2023). Altroz ​​CNG and Punch CNG. Both the models are going to be launched this year, but their launch date has not been revealed yet. According to a recent media report, the Tata Altroz ​​CNG will hit the showrooms later this year.

What is interesting about the model is its new dual cylinder setup which does not eat much of its boot space. It has auto switch between fast refilling, fuel and modular fuel filter. During refueling, the engine can be switched off through a micro switch. The model comes with first in its segment Leakage Detection Technology which ensures to switch over to petrol in case of gas leakage.

Tata Altroz ​​CNG
The powertrain system on the Tata Altroz ​​CNG includes a 1.2L petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, the setup offers 77PS of power and 95Nm of torque. It can be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

No changes have been made to its exterior and interior. Like the regular petrol variant, the CNG version of the hatchback offers 7-inch Harman infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, leatherette seat upholstery, automatic climate control, electric sunroof, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, R16. Dual-tone alloy wheels, shark fin antenna and auto folding ORVMs will also be found in it.

The carmaker will bring the Tata Altroz ​​Racer variant before launching its CNG variant. The main attraction of the racer is the more powerful, 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine that makes 120PS and 170Nm. It gets FWD system with 6-speed manual gearbox. Once launched, the sporty variant of the hatchback will go up against the Hyundai i20 N-Line.
