Maruti Jimny Vs Mahindra Thar: Price
Talking about the price, Maruti has launched the Jimny at a starting price of Rs. 12.74 lakhs. Whereas its top variant costs Rs 15.05 (ex-showroom). The Jimny is offered in two variants – Zeta and Alpha. Whereas Mahindra Thar is available in the Indian market at a price of Rs 10.54-16.78 lakh. If we look at the price, the Maruti Jimny is almost Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the Mahindra Thar. This is because all variants of the Jimny have been offered with a 4-wheel drivetrain (4WD). While the Thar is only available in 2-wheel drive (2WD) variant at the starting price. In terms of pricing, the Mahindra Thar gets an edge over the Jimny.
Maruti Jimny Vs Mahindra Thar: Engine
The Maruti Jimny gets a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that generates 105bhp power and 134Nm torque. There is a choice of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox available with this engine. A 4-wheel drivetrain (4WD) is being offered as standard in both the variants of the Jimny. Talking about Mahindra Thar, it is being given the option of 2-liter turbo petrol engine (152PS/320Nm) and 1.5-liter diesel engine (118PS/300Nm). Both the engines of the Mahindra Thar clearly generate more power than the Jimny. Because of this, you will get good performance and ride quality in Thar.

Maruti Jimny Vs Mahindra Thar: Features
Talking about the features, the Jimny includes many features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, automatic climate control and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of safety, it has six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, rearview camera and parking sensors. All models of the Jimny get a hard top roof.
The Mahindra Thar, on the other hand, comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV is also equipped with cruise control, halogen headlights with LED DRLs, electrically controlled AC and steering mounted controls. Mahindra Thar gets washable interior floor. Also, it also comes in the option of convertible rooftop.
In terms of safety, Thar gets features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill descent control, traction control, rear parking sensors and front seat belt reminder. Mahindra Thar is one of the safe cars in its segment. Thar has been given a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. All the crash test ratings of the Jimny have not been revealed.
