New Delhi. The government has directed YouTube to block 45 YouTube videos from 10 YouTube channels. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued orders to block related videos last week under the provisions of Rules 2021. The videos that have been blocked have a total viewership of more than 1 crore. According to the government, the content blocked by the ministry has been termed as detrimental to India’s sovereignty and integrity, security, India’s friendly relations with foreign states and public order. Why did the government ban these videos:
1.
In these 45 videos, such content has been shown which spreads hatred between religious communities. This included fake news and morphed videos. These include false claims such as the government taking away religious rights of certain communities, violent threats against religious communities, declaration of civil war in India, etc.

2. The second reason is false propaganda on matters related to Agneepath scheme, Indian Armed Forces, India’s National Security Ecosystem, Kashmir etc. The content in these videos was found to be incorrect and sensitive from the point of view of national security.

3. Talking about the third reason, some of these videos depict India’s external border with parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh outside Indian territory, which is wrong. This has been found to be detrimental to the integrity of the watch.

The government has not disclosed the names of these YouTube channels. It has been told that on August 1, the government has closed eight YouTube channels. These blocked Indian YouTube channels have been spotted with fake and sensational thumbnails.
