The wait is about to end, the curtain is about to rise from Activa Electric, the date revealed

New Delhi. Honda Two-Wheelers India will reveal its future strategy for electric two-wheelers on March 29, 2023. The company has given its comments on its first electric scooter. It is believed that this scooter can be launched by March 2024.

The new electric scooter is likely to use the Activa nameplate, which will help Honda reach out to the rearch masses. Also, Honda will not have to spend extra on marketing the electric scooter. The Japanese two-wheeler maker will introduce two electric scooters globally by 2025. Activa e-scooter will be one of them.

Will be ready by next financial year
The new electric scooter for India has been developed in collaboration with Honda Japan. In fact, Atsushi Ogata, MD and CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) confirmed that the first electric vehicle will be ready by the end of the next financial year.

There will be some changes in the design
The new Honda Activa electric scooter is likely to get a fixed battery pack under the floorboard and a hub motor at the rear wheel. Honda is also working on a removable battery with battery swapping network; However, this setup is likely to be introduced in future vehicles and not the Activa e-scooter. It is expected that the Honda Activa electric scooter is likely to share styling cues from the ICE version. The company will make some changes in the design to give it an EV look.
