Toyota is bringing a powerful SUV to compete with Hyundai Creta, will have more mileage

New Delhi. Toyota Motor is going to launch the new Hyryder compact SUV in India on July 1. Earlier, the company has released its teaser on the micro blogging site. The new Hyder SUV has been shown in public for the first time in the teaser video. When launched, the Hyryder SUV will take on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Tata Harrier.

The video reveals that the SUV will get a sleek LED headlight unit, a slim grille with Toyota badging, LED taillights among its design highlights. The Toyota Hyryder SUV will also come with hybrid technology, which will be showcased by the badging on the side of the SUV. This means it will get more mileage.

Very attractive design
Earlier, pictures surfaced on social media showed the SUV in production form during a commercial shoot. The teaser video as well as the leaked photos confirm that the 2022 Hyder SUV will come with a bold front with sleek, curvy headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The headlamps come with a sleek chrome trim, which adds the brand logo located at the center of the front profile. The front bumper looks bold with a large air intake and is surrounded by fog lamps located on the black housing.

This could be the engine of SUV
The Toyota Hyryder is expected to be based on the company’s TNGA-B modular monocoque platform. The Hyryder SUV will be manufactured locally at the Bidadi facility in Karnataka. Toyota has not yet given any information about the specifications of the Hyder SUV. However, it is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine with hybrid technology sourced from Maruti Suzuki. The engine is likely to come mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission unit.

There will be fierce competition in the compact SUV segment
The upcoming Toyota Hyryder SUV will also give an indication of what the rival SUV from Maruti Suzuki’s Creta, Seltos will look like. Maruti Suzuki will launch its compact SUV later this year. With the upcoming compact SUV from Maruti, the Hireder is likely to give a good fight to the compact SUV segment dominated by Korean carmakers.
