If you are affected by the problem of WhatsApp backup, then you have to follow the steps given below. These steps have been given by reddit user-
Step 1) Open the desktop or laptop browser. Then go to drive.google.com.
Step 2) Then go to Settings. Then tap on Manage Apps. Then you have to choose WhatsApp Messenger.
Step 3) Then go to the options menu and disconnect from the disc. If your chats are saved on your smartphone, you will not lose them.

Step 4) Next, uninstall WhatsApp from your phone, then use the device’s file manager and navigate to “/user/Android/Media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Databases”.
Step 5) Rename the latest database (.db) file to msgstore.db. This will create a file named msgstore.db.crypt12 or msgstore.db.crypt14.

Step 6) After this again you have to download WhatsApp from Play Store. Sign in with the same phone number.
Step 7) Since the Google Drive link is broken, WhatsApp will find the local backup that you just renamed.
Step 8) Restore your conversation history. Re-install WhatsApp, then go to WhatsApp settings and link your Google Drive for online backup.
