Will DTC buses be handed over to private hands now? Know how DTC went into debt

New Delhi. The Kejriwal government of Delhi is going to hand over the operation of DTC buses to private hands. For this, the Delhi Government has started preparations. The Delhi government has constituted a committee under the supervision of the Transport Commissioner. This committee will prepare a report on giving the responsibility from operation to maintenance to private operators on the lines of cluster buses. The committee will work on the cluster model and operation of these buses. At present, the Delhi government has given the responsibility of operating 152 electric buses in DTC to private operators. It is being considered a trial to hand over the operation of the entire fleet of DTC to private hands.

From the purchase of buses in the cluster model to the operations in private hands
Let us tell you that a total of 7200 buses are operated on two models in the public transport sector in Delhi. There are 3812 buses in which from the driver to the operator all are under the supervision of the government. At the same time, in the second cluster model, from the purchase of buses to operation, maintenance is done in private hands. In Delhi, this responsibility is currently being handled by a company named Dimts.

Preparation to hand over other buses in private hands on the lines of cluster model
In such a situation, now there is a preparation to hand over the other buses included in the DTC fleet to private hands on the lines of the cluster model. Here, the round of meeting has started regarding this decision of Delhi Transport Corporation through DTC Workers Unity Center. Workers say that a warning will be issued to the DTC management and Delhi government in this regard.

A committee constituted related to the operation of DTC
Let us inform that after the constant pressure from the Delhi Government Workers Unity Center (ACTU), now a committee has been formed related to the operation of DTC. Actu has been performing continuously in DTC, taking other demands including Pucca to the contract employees. The union says that the party’s manifesto issued by the Aadmi Party had promised to ensure contract employees, due to which now this government has completely backed down and is taking such decisions.
