On 11 September 2001, terrorists had planned to blow up America’s 110-storey building World Trade Tower as well as the Pentagon and the White House. They were successful in attacking the World Trade Tower and the Pentagon, but could not reach the White House. The date of 9/11 was a dreadful day for America, when terrorists hijacked 4 passenger planes and forced them to collide with the World Trade Tower and the Pentagon. Hundreds of passengers were also on board. Despite this, the terrorists crashed the hijacked planes into the World Trade Tower. Not only Washington but the entire world was shaken by several terrorist attacks at different places in America at an interval of about 2.5 hours. Three buildings of the World Trade Tower collapsed completely. About 3000 people were killed in this biggest terrorist attack on America.

The mastermind of this attack was Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked 4 American passenger planes.
The surprising thing is that the terrorists who attacked stayed in America and took training for several years.
All these terrorists had entered America on tourist, student and business visas.
Two planes were crashed into the World Trade Tower. There were 17400 people present in the building at that time.
The World Trade Tower building which was not hit by any plane also collapsed. The reason behind its collapse is not known till date.
The terrorists were also going to blow up the White House by hitting it with another plane, but that plane crashed in Pennsylvania.
It is claimed that the passengers of this plane clashed with the terrorists, due to which it crashed, otherwise there was a plan to launch a major attack on the American capital or the White House.
But the exact reason for the plane crash could not be ascertained till now. It was only speculated that the passengers might have collided. All the passengers were also killed.
The terrorists also used pepper powder spray on the passengers after hijacking the plane.
