Tokyo: A Japanese Airlines plane caught fire on the runway of Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on Tuesday evening, a day after a powerful earthquake struck Japan.
There were 379 passengers present in the plane
According to information received from news agency Reuters, the plane that caught fire reportedly had 379 passengers. However, the fortunate thing was that all 379 passengers and crew were evacuated from the plane safely.
It is seen in the video that the plane is burning and strong flames are visible in it. Firemen were trying to extinguish the fire. It is worth noting that Haneda is one of the busiest airports in Japan, and many people travel through here during the New Year holidays.
How did the accident happen?
According to media reports, after landing it collided with another plane, due to which it caught fire. NHK TV reported that all passengers on board the plane were evacuated safely. Video shown by local TV showed a huge explosion of fire and smoke as the Japan Airlines plane took off on the runway. After this a fire broke out in the area around the wing.
According to reports, this aircraft was JAL Flight 516, which took off from Shin Chitose Airport in Japan for Haneda. The firemen extinguished the fire after hard work. The flames were visible from a distance.
