America demands loan waiver from China amid floods in Pakistan, assures help

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has given full assurance of help to Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Zardari. At the same time, he has also asked Pakistan to make an appeal to China that in view of the severe flood there, it should waive the loan.

Blinken said that he also urged his allies to involve China on some important issues of debt relief and restructuring so that Pakistan can recover from the flood situation more quickly.

Significantly, China is a major economic and political partner of Pakistan. According to a report, China has the highest foreign debt of $ 77.3 billion on Pakistan. In such a situation, it is possible that America is helping China to make Pakistan moving closer to its side.

America has been repeatedly accusing Pakistan of China’s debt that Dragon will definitely take advantage of it, while Pakistan will have to face constant debt. However, despite warnings from America, Pakistan has been ignoring it time and again.

The devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan

About one-third of the country has been affected due to the floods in Pakistan. About 1600 people have died and more than 7 million people have been displaced due to floods in Pakistan. People in Pakistan are constantly forced to leave their homes and migrate to other safe places, they are afraid that such serious disasters will become more common due to climate change.

America assures help to Pakistan

The US has pledged $56 million in humanitarian aid to help Pakistan recover from the devastation caused by the floods. Apart from this, America will also send 17 of its planes to deliver relief material to the flood-affected areas. US Secretary of State Blinken has promised that he will keep an eye on the flood situation in Pakistan and provide all possible help.
