Biden supports India’s permanent membership in UNSC, praises PM Modi – Hindustan News Hub

Wilmington: The US has once again supported India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). President Joe Biden told Prime Minister Modi that the US supports initiatives to reform global institutions to reflect India’s important voice, including permanent membership for India in a reformed UN Security Council. Along with this, he also praised PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine in August for peace.

Let us tell you that PM Modi visited Russia in July and offered President Vladimir Putin to hold talks with Ukraine for a peaceful solution. After this, he also went to meet Ukrainian President Zelensky with a message of peace. Not only this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had prepared a draft of peace and sent it to India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to Russian President Putin just a few days ago. After this, the possibilities of a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine war have increased.

India-US partnership deepens

During the Quad summit, the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership has deepened further. Along with this, bilateral relations and mutual cooperation were also strengthened immensely. According to the White House, both the leaders said that a closer US-India partnership is important for the success of efforts to build a cleaner, inclusive, safer and more prosperous future for our planet.

Biden praises Prime Minister on his visit to Poland-Ukraine

US President Joe Biden praised Prime Minister Modi for his historic visits to Poland and Ukraine. This was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in decades and also praised PM Modi for his support to peace in Ukraine and continued humanitarian assistance. Biden also appreciated PM Modi’s emphasis on the importance of international law, including the UN Charter, for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Additionally, the two leaders reaffirmed their support for freedom of navigation and security of commerce. This includes critical sea lanes in the Middle East, where India will co-lead Combined Task Force 150 to work with joint maritime forces to secure sea lanes in the Arabian Sea in 2025.
