Beijing: China on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Pakistan’s troubled Balochistan province. China said during this time that it will continue to support Pakistan’s counter-terrorism campaign. 37 people were killed in these terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Condemning the attacks carried out by Baloch gunmen, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said in the daily press conference that China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and firmly supports Pakistan to speed up the counter-terrorism campaign, maintain social unity and stability, and protect people’s safety.
Chinese workers have also been targeted
Lin said China is willing to further strengthen counter-terrorism and security cooperation with Pakistan to maintain peace and security in the region. The two major attacks in restive Balochistan come at a time when a top Chinese military official is visiting Pakistan for a security assessment, particularly to review the security of the USD 60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The multi-project corridor has been facing opposition from the Baloch people and has been subjected to frequent attacks. Chinese personnel working on various projects in Balochistan have also been targeted.
