In a TV interview after coming out of jail, Fawad turned emotional when asked how his arrest had affected his children. The clip of the interview is being shared on social media.

The host asked Fawad Chaudhary, ‘What was the reaction of the children when they came to visit you?’ Hearing this question, Fawad remained silent for a few seconds and then became emotional. After some time he said softly, ‘Bad’ means the children were scared to see him in jail. A Pakistani court on Wednesday granted bail to senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary in a sedition case and ordered his release.

Arrested from home in Lahore

Chaudhary, 52, a close aide of Imran, was arrested last week from his residence in Lahore. A case was registered against him at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad on the complaint of the secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan. The Secretary of the Election Commission had filed a complaint against Choudhary alleging that he had “threatened” the members of the Commission and their families.

A judicial magistrate had on Monday sent him to 14-day judicial custody, rejecting the police’s request for his custody in the case. Additional Sessions Court Judge Faizan Geelani on Wednesday granted bail to Chaudhary in the sedition case on a surety of Rs 20,000. Chowdhary has been charged with sedition for publicly ‘threatening’ members of the Election Commission. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rejected his arrest as politically motivated and demanded his release.
