After two-plus-two talks in Delhi with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Austin, now Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar’s plan to visit Britain has also been announced. He will be on a visit to London from 14 to 15 November. The purpose of this visit is to take the relations between India and Britain to greater heights. During this, the Indian Foreign Minister will meet his counterpart James Cleverley. Apart from this, he will meet other key officials.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar began his five-day visit to Britain on Saturday with the aim of reviewing various aspects of bilateral relations. It is expected that during Jaishankar’s visit, preparations regarding the possible visit of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to India in the next few months will be discussed. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Foreign Minister S.Jaishankar will be on an official visit to Britain from 11 to 15 November.
What is the purpose of the trip?
The statement issued by the ministry said, “Bilateral relations between India and Britain are growing. During this visit, the Foreign Minister will meet his British counterpart Sir James Cleverly and other dignitaries. The Ministry of External Affairs described the relations between the two countries as cordial and progressive. The India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was launched in 2021 with the signing of the India-UK Action Plan 2030, which aims to expand relations across a range of sectors. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “The action plan commits to a partnership that will prove beneficial for both countries.” The visit of the Foreign Minister will give new impetus to the friendly relations between the two countries.
