Karachi: This time the Pakistan government will not allow everyone to keep fast in Ramzan. For this, an order has already been issued by the Government of Pakistan. Pakistan’s national carrier PIA has asked its pilots and crew members not to fast while on duty during the month of Ramzan. Citing medical advice, PIA has said that by observing Roza (fast), a person faces dehydration, laziness and sleep problems.
Both the Corporate Safety Management and Crew Medical Center have recommended that pilots and crew members of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) should not fast during flight. “Based on these recommendations, the top management of PIA has issued compliance orders to the pilot and crew members with immediate effect,” a PIA official said. It has been said that they should not fast when they are on duty for international or domestic flights.
Due to this reason instructions were issued
A team of the Aircraft Investigation Board had released its findings last month on the crash of the plane that crashed into a crowded area of a residential society near Karachi airport in May 2020. The board has blamed human errors for this accident. The report also held the PIA and the Civil Aviation Authority responsible for not having clear rules regarding whether pilots should fast during the month of Ramadan while on duty. (Language)
