Imran becomes the biggest challenge of Pakistan’s new General Aseem, will show power in Rawalpindi, the army’s stronghold
march in spite of danger
Imran addressed the media at his home on Thursday. He said, ‘I know that my life is in danger and there could be another attack on me. But despite this I will keep reaching Rawalpindi. If Imran is to be believed, his wounds may not heal quickly and he will take out the long march with an injured leg. Imran claims that he will surprise everyone on 26 November. Former PM Imran is not worried about the appointment of the new army chief. He said that he has no objection to whoever has been made the army chief by the government. But now the government is trapped in its own trap from both the sides.
demand for elections
If Imran Khan, who lost power in April this year, is to be believed, then if elections are held in the country today, the present government will face defeat badly. He said that he has only one demand and he wants to know about the dates of new elections in the country. Only after that any talks can take place. After the announcement of the appointment of General Asim, Imran gave a big reaction to this. He said that President Arif Alvi, who is a member of his party, will definitely consult him before approving the new army chief.
many allegations against the army
Apart from Imran, another former PM Nawaz Sharif has accused the army. The army is facing many more challenges. The army, which is responsible for the security of the country, is accused of influencing the legal process of the April 2017 Panamagate verdict. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has accused the judiciary and the army of being permanently disqualified. After the general elections held in 2018, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (Retd) Safdar were convicted at Panama Gate. All three were even sent to jail.
Case on former leaders
Nawaz and the party leaders also accused the military and the judiciary of stealing the huge referendum vote they got in the general elections. When Imran Khan’s party PTI came to power after winning the elections, it put the responsibility of initiating action against the leaders of the opposition on all the institutions especially the judiciary, military and all the government organizations. Many political leaders were sent to jail and the courts refused to grant them any relief. But when former military dictator Pervez Musharraf was sentenced to death in a treason case by a special court, the decision was opposed by the military.
