The path of Maldivian President Mohammed Muizzu, who is messing with India, is becoming thorny. In the Maldives Parliament, opposition MPs thrashed Muizzu’s party MPs on the ground over a dispute over an issue. The matter was calmed down only when other leaders intervened. Due to this the proceedings of the House were disrupted. Muizzu is constantly on target of the opposition due to his anti-India actions and love for China. There was chaos in the Parliament during the main session due to clash between the MPs of the party and the opposition.
Such an uncontrolled scene in the Parliament of Maldives has been seen only in the cabinet of President Mohammed Muizzu. Chaos broke out in the Maldives Parliament on Sunday as the ruling coalition clashed with opposition MPs ahead of the crucial vote for Muizzu’s cabinet. Due to this the main proceedings of the House were disrupted. According to media reports, the clash took place during a special session called to seek parliamentary approval for ministers in President Mohammad Muizzu’s cabinet.
Former President Mohammad Solih’s MPs dominate
Pro-government MPs from the People’s National Congress (PNC) and the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) came out in protest against the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) led by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, which has a majority in parliament. Local news outlets said the approval of four members of President Mohammed Muizzu’s cabinet has been withheld. This enraged the Solih MPs and a fight started between them. In a viral video, MPs are seen throwing each other on the ground and kicking and punching each other.
