Copenhagen, Denmark): Not only the bulldozer of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, but his dialogue is also in the international headlines. You must have often heard CM Yogi Adityanath say “we will mix you in the soil”. Now Iran has copied this dialogue. Iran has sent more than 15 thousand threatening messages (SMS) to the mobile phones of hundreds of people in Sweden. Iran has said in the message sent to Sweden that “we will mix you in the soil”. Now you must be wondering what is this matter, in which Iran has given such a big warning to Sweden in the style of CM Yogi Adityanath. So let us tell you the whole matter.

In fact, Sweden has claimed that Iran is behind sending thousands of SMSes to its citizens threatening to take revenge for the Quran burning incident in 2023. Swedish officials claim that Iran’s paramilitary force Revolutionary Guard had ‘hacked the data’ and sent ‘about 15,000 SMS in Swedish language’ in connection with the public burning of the Quran. Senior prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist said that a preliminary investigation conducted by Sweden’s domestic security agency ‘SAPO’ revealed that “Iran hacked the data of the Swedish company, the major SMS service provider in Sweden, through the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC).” The senior prosecutor has not disclosed the name of the Swedish company. There has been no immediate response from Iranian officials on this issue either.

Iran had written in SMS “We will reduce you to dust”

Swedish media reported in August 2023 that a large number of people in Sweden had received SMSes in Swedish language calling for revenge against those who burned the Quran. Ljungqvist said the sender of the messages was “a group calling itself the Anju Team”. Swedish broadcaster SVT shared a picture of the SMS which read, “Those who insult the Quran will be reduced to dust.” It called the people of Sweden “demons”. The demonstration was carried out under freedom of expression, which is protected in Sweden’s constitution, and was approved by the police. In a separate statement, SAPO operations manager Fredrik Hallström said the intention behind sending the SMS was to “present Sweden as an Islamophobic country and create divisions in society.”

Meanwhile, Sweden’s Justice Minister Gunnar Strömer told Swedish news agency TT, “According to (SAPO’s) assessment, Iran had a role in this case. The purpose of this act is to destabilize Sweden or increase polarization in our country, this is of course very serious.” There is no law in Sweden to prevent burning or insulting the Quran or any religious text. Like other Western countries, there is no blasphemy law in Sweden. (Input-AP)
