Tel Aviv: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Monday presented the hypersonic missile Fatah-2 to the world for the first time. According to Iranian media, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei unveiled the Fatah-2 at the Ashura Aerospace Science and Technology University. Let us tell you that Iran had successfully tested Fatah-1 in June 2023. The advanced version includes the Hypersonic Glide Vehicle (HGV), which helps the weapon reach maximum speed. It is reported that the Fatah-2 can reach speeds of Mach 5-20 (6170-24700 kilometers per hour).
‘Fatah-2 is a missile with tremendous capability’
Iranian media also reported that the capability of Fatah-2 is greater than Israel’s and America’s advanced anti-ballistic missiles. Iran’s launch of the new missile is a major development amid its ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza and clashes with Iran-backed Hezbollah in the West Bank. Israel has always seen Iran as a support base for both Hamas and Hezbollah and recently there were reports of Hamas military commander Yahya Sinwar providing professional weapons training to Hamas men in Hezbollah military command.
Iran has been stoking fire against Israel
Let us tell you that recently Iran had warned Israel that if it did not stop its continuous bombing of the Gaza Strip, it would have to face serious consequences on ‘many fronts’. Both the Hezbollah terror group, which has engaged in low-level clashes along Israel’s border with Lebanon, and the Assad government in Syria have close ties to Iran. However, till now Iran has not said anything about its own involvement in the war and seems to be supporting the groups taking part in it from behind.
