After the attacks by Hamas, the Israeli army’s counterattack on Gaza continues. The Israeli army has freed six of the Hamas terrorists. So far, more than a thousand senior Hamas terrorists have been killed in the Israeli attack on Gaza. Most of the commanders of Hamas have also been killed by the Israeli army. Countries like America, France, Britain and India are standing with Israel in this war. All these countries want the end of Hamas. America has even given a huge defense package to Israel to eliminate Hamas. Amidst all this there is a bad news for Israel. Actually, Israel has faced a big defeat on an issue in the United Nations Security Council. America also could not support Israel on this issue. After this defeat, Netanyahu may have to face difficulties in view of his campaign in Gaza.

Let us tell you that the United Nations Security Council had presented a resolution demanding an “immediate and extended humanitarian ceasefire” to reduce the increasing difficulties of ordinary citizens of Palestine amid Israeli ground and air attacks in Gaza. It has been adopted by the United Nations. This is the first resolution adopted by the United Nations since the war between Israel and Hamas began. However Israel has rejected this proposal. Despite this, Israel’s difficulties may increase. The United Nations may force it to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza.

12 votes were cast against Israel

12 votes were cast in favor of this proposal in the fifteen-member Security Council. America also did not support Israel on this issue. America, Britain and Russia kept their distance in the voting. In this resolution, when Hamas did not condemn the sudden attack on Israel on October 7, America and Britain distanced themselves from it. The resolution contains soft language calling for a humanitarian ceasefire and “the immediate and unconditional release of all persons held hostage by Hamas and other groups.”

However, the Malta-sponsored resolution managed to overcome the serious differences that had prevented the Council from adopting the previous four resolutions. “Today we achieved an important first step,” said Malta’s Ambassador to the UN, Vanessa Frazier. We will remain committed to protecting civilians and eliminating the suffering of children in armed conflicts. (AP)
