Israeli army rescues kidnapped hostage – Hindustan News Hub

Jerusalem: The Israeli military said on Tuesday it had rescued an Arab civilian who was among those kidnapped in a Hamas attack on October 7. The army said 52-year-old Qaid Farhan al-Qadi was rescued “during an operation in the southern Gaza Strip.” Hamas-led militants kidnapped about 250 people in the October 7 attack that killed nearly 1,200 people, mostly civilians.

Israel rescued a total of eight hostages

Hamas still holds about 110 hostages, about a third of whom are feared dead. The rest were released in exchange for Palestinians held by Israel during a ceasefire in November last year. Israel has rescued a total of eight hostages. Hamas says several hostages have been killed in Israeli air strikes.

More than 40 thousand Palestinians have been killed

According to local health officials, more than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s counter-attack, although they did not say how many were fighters. The US, Egypt and Qatar have spent months trying to negotiate a deal under which the remaining hostages would be released in exchange for a permanent ceasefire.
