Maldives News: Ever since Maldives President Mohammed Moizzu became the President, he has been adopting an anti-India stance. Many such steps have been taken which are anti-India. These include sending back to India those Indian soldiers from their country who have been deployed in Maldives for many decades. Not only this, after his visit to China, Moijju has also allowed a Chinese spy ship to stay at his place. Information about maritime preparations related to India can be leaked from this ship. Meanwhile, after the anti-India move of the President of Maldives, they are under siege in their own country. Major opposition parties opposed Moijju and expressed concern over his anti-India stance. He also described India as his old ally. Maldives’ two main opposition parties on Wednesday expressed concern over their government’s anti-India stance, calling India its ‘oldest ally’. Both the Maldivian Democratic Party ‘MDP’ and the Democrat Party expressed their concern a day after that statement by the Maldives government.

Chinese spy ship given permission in Maldives

It said a Chinese ship carrying out research and survey has been allowed to dock at a port in the country. The permission to the Chinese ship has been given amid tensions in relations between India and Maldives. Maldives’ new President Mohammed Muizzu visited China as part of his first foreign trip after coming to power and assuming office.

First visit to China ignoring India

Traditionally, the President of Maldives visits India as his first foreign visit. Both opposition parties, in their assessment of the foreign policy direction of the Maldives government, said that the current administration appears to be adopting an anti-India stance. Both parties said they believe that walking away from any development partner, and especially the country’s oldest ally, would be extremely detrimental to the country’s long-term development.

Leaders of opposition parties said this

MDP President and former Minister Faiyaz Ismail and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Saleem, Democrat Party President MP Hasan Latif and other leaders were addressing a joint press conference. He said, ‘The country’s various governments should work with all development partners for the benefit of the Maldivian people, as the Maldives has traditionally done. Stability and security in the Indian Ocean is vital to the stability and security of the Maldives. Both the parties expressed their commitment to work together on various issues related to governance.
