Dhaka: Bangladesh’s interim government chief Mohammad Yunus has fiercely attacked former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Yunus said that the kind of political comments Hasina is making while sitting in India are not appropriate. Yunus also said that until Dhaka requests her extradition, she should remain silent so that the relations between the two countries do not become uncomfortable. Yunus has also appealed to India to ask Hasina to remain silent.
Yunus, the head of Bangladesh’s interim government, said, “If India wants to keep Hasina with them until Bangladesh (government) calls her back, the condition will be that she (Hasina) has to keep quiet.” In an interview at his official residence in Dhaka, Yunus stressed that Bangladesh values strong relations with India but New Delhi should “move beyond the narrative that portrays all political parties except the Awami League as Islamic and that the country will become like Afghanistan without Sheikh Hasina.”
Yunus got angry on Haseena
Amid the ongoing protests in the country, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and took refuge in India. After this, Yunus has been appointed the head of the interim government. Yunus said, “No one in India is comfortable with her stance. She is in India and makes some statements that create problems. If she had remained silent, we would have forgotten it. But sitting in India, she is speaking and giving instructions. No one is liking this.” (Language)
