Muscular Dystrophy: Muscular dystrophy is a disease in which the muscles of the hands and legs start drying up. Bones start becoming weak. Many times they dry up and become crooked and bend from one place to another. In such a situation, normal development gets hindered. Children become unable to walk. They start stumbling and falling and living life becomes difficult. There is no cure for this disease worldwide in current medical science. Death of the victims of this disease is certain. But now stem cell therapy and wave therapy have shown such patients a new way to live. However, a lot of research still remains to be done.

According to a news published in Science Daily, Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a muscular degeneration disorder caused by mutations affecting the dystrophin gene. Researchers have succeeded in restoring the dystrophin protein using a dual clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR) RNA method. This is a new method that allows large quantities of muscle stem cells to be safely obtained in cell culture. Apart from this, many researchers have claimed to revive dead cells in muscular dystrophy through web therapy.

In India too, work is being done on web therapy in the treatment of muscular dystrophy.

Not only abroad, but also in India, researchers have given new hope for survival to muscular dystrophy patients through web therapy. Patients and their families who have taken this therapy have also claimed amazing benefits. There is no known cause of muscular dystrophy. Mostly it occurs due to genetic reasons or mutation in genes. Dr. SK Pathak, founder of Pathak Wave Therapy in Sector 27, Noida, says that in case of muscular dystrophy, abnormal genes (mutations) hinder the formation of proteins necessary for building healthy muscles. This disease occurs mostly in boys and starts in childhood itself. Girls can be its carriers.

Medical science has not been able to do any miracle till now

Medical science has not yet been able to perform any miracle in the treatment of muscular dystrophy. Therefore, in big institutions, children suffering from this disease and their parents have to return disappointed. Sushil Yadav, a resident of Badlapur, Jaunpur, said that he was getting his 9-year-old son suffering from DMD treated at the Department of Medical Genetics in SGPGI, Lucknow. But was not able to get any rest. The child was unable to stand and walk. After getting the information the reader was brought to the Wave Therapy Centre. Now the child has started walking and running. Similarly, Chandausi resident Sachin Gupta says that at the age of 6, his son’s hands and legs started becoming crooked. He underwent treatment for molecular genetics at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Genomics in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, but to no avail. After getting the information, the child started walking after undergoing wave therapy in Noida.
