London: It has been nearly two and a half years since the Russia-Ukraine war. But so far this conflict has not reached any conclusion. In such a situation, pressure is now being exerted on Russian President Putin to launch a nuclear attack. According to an influential Russian foreign policy expert (think tank), Russia should clearly state its willingness to use nuclear weapons against countries “supporting NATO aggression in Ukraine”. An organization called HAWK is now pressuring President Vladimir Putin to take a more vocal stance regarding nuclear attack.
The head of the organization, Sergei Karaganov, told the Kommersant newspaper in an interview that Moscow could launch a limited nuclear attack on a NATO country without starting a full-blown nuclear war. He said the United States was lying when it said it would guarantee nuclear security to its allies. Karaganov said, the main goal of Russia’s nuclear doctrine should be to ensure that all present and future enemies know that Russia is ready to use nuclear weapons. That is, if necessary, not only Ukraine, but NATO countries can also be victims of Russia’s nuclear attack.
Russia prepares for nuclear strike after Ukrainian occupation of Kursk region
After Ukraine’s occupation of the Kursk region, there is pressure on Russian President Putin to change his nuclear policy. A fierce war has been going on here between the armies of Russia and Ukraine for the last several weeks. The Russian army is struggling to push Ukraine back from here. Karaganov said that now the time has come to declare that we have the right to respond to any major attack on our territory with a nuclear attack. This also applies to encroachment (occupation) of any area of our territory.
Karaganov’s statements are being closely watched by Western security experts as indicators of Russian thinking on foreign, defense and nuclear policy. Although Karaganov’s opinions do not represent the Kremlin’s official policy, the presidential office has repeatedly given him opportunities to raise his voice at influential forums and directly to President Vladimir Putin.
Moscow may change nuclear policy
It is being said that Russia is now ready to amend its nuclear policy. Let us tell you that for more than a year, Karaganov has been the most prominent person demanding a change in Russia’s nuclear doctrine. Now Moscow has also said that it will amend it. Moscow’s current doctrine states that Russia will be ready to use nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear attack by another country or a conventional attack that threatens the existence of the state. That is, it will not attack any country with nuclear weapons first. Karaganov said that the doctrine was irresponsible and suicidal, because it did not sufficiently deter Russia’s enemies and led them to believe that there would hardly be any situation in which Moscow would use nuclear weapons.
