PM Modi also met Singapore President Shanmugaratnam, discussions were held on deepening bilateral cooperation with India – Hindustan News Hub

Singapore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on Thursday and discussed opportunities to broaden and deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Prime Minister Modi arrived here on Wednesday on his fifth official visit to the Southeast Asian country at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong after concluding his first bilateral visit to Brunei.

After this meeting, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi held fruitful talks with President Tharman S in Singapore today. The Prime Minister thanked President Tharman S for his strong support for the partnership. The discussion focused on opportunities to broaden and deepen cooperation.”

These issues were also discussed

Earlier, Modi and Singapore Prime Minister Wong held extensive talks and the two countries signed four MoUs, including on cooperation in semiconductors, elevating their bilateral ties to a “comprehensive strategic partnership”. Modi also met his former Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong on Thursday and described him as a “strong supporter of India-Singapore relations”. The two leaders discussed ways to work together in areas such as green energy and fintech. (Language)
