Singapore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his counterpart Lawrence Wong today on the second day of his Singapore visit. During this, they discussed ways to promote bilateral relations between India and Singapore. Let us tell you that PM Modi has come here on a two-day visit at the invitation of Wong. Before talks with Wong, Modi was formally welcomed at the Singapore Parliament House. He also signed the visitor’s book there. This meeting between the two leaders took place a few days after Wong became the Prime Minister of Singapore and Modi started his third term as Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi will also meet President Tharman Shanmugaratnam later. There is a program of bilateral talks with him as well. Let us tell you that PM Modi has reached Singapore directly on Wednesday after a 2-day visit to Brunei. This was the first bilateral visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Brunei. In this sense, PM Modi’s visit to Brunei was very historic. After this, he is in Singapore, where agreements are expected on many types of bilateral relations between the two countries.

India and Singapore discussed ways to deepen strategic partnership in new and emerging areas of advanced manufacturing, digitalisation and sustainable development. The two leaders took stock of the progress of the India-Singapore Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
