PM Modi leaves for India after visit to Brunei and Singapore – Hindustan News Hub

PM Modi’s visit to Singapore

Singapore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for home on Thursday after completing his visit to Brunei and Singapore. During the visit, he held wide-ranging talks with the top leadership of the two countries on strengthening historical ties, deepening partnerships and attracting investments from the two Southeast Asian nations. The Ministry of External Affairs said in its post on ‘X’, “A successful visit concluded. Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for New Delhi after a fruitful visit to Singapore.”

‘The journey was worthwhile’

PM Modi said on ‘X’ that his visit to Singapore was “extremely fruitful”. He said, “It will definitely strengthen bilateral relations and benefit the people of our countries. I thank the government and people of Singapore for their warmth.”

His fifth official visit to Singapore

Modi was here at the invitation of his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong. This was his fifth official visit to Singapore. During his two-day visit to Singapore, the two countries expanded the scope of their bilateral relations to a “comprehensive strategic partnership” and signed four MoUs, including cooperation in semiconductors. Earlier in the day, Modi met Wong and during this, the two leaders took stock of the strong progress in economic relations. They also reviewed the existing cooperation in areas such as defense and security, maritime sector, education, artificial intelligence, science and technology. Modi and Wong also visited a semiconductor manufacturing establishment. Before talks with PM Wong, Modi was given a grand welcome at the Parliament House of Singapore. He also signed the visitor’s magazine. Modi also met Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and discussed opportunities to broaden and deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Modi reached Singapore after Brunei

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Singapore after concluding his first bilateral visit to Brunei. He was accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other government officials. In Brunei, Modi held bilateral talks with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. During this, topics including defense, trade and energy were discussed and views were exchanged on regional and global issues of mutual interest. (Language)
